Obi-Wan: Jedi Master or Knight?
« on: 10/07/12 22:52:24 »
Sorry to ask this obviously noob question but in Episode 2 was Obi-Wan a Jedi Master or a Jedi Knight? I only ask because Dooku referred to him as Master Kenobi but wasnt that a common respectful greeting given to many (knights and Masters) Jedi; referring to them as "Master Jedi" and such? No I'm not trying to debate it, I'm trying to see if he was an actual master since I know in the clone wars series he is.

I'm pretty sure he was a Knight in the second movie.

Yeah, he's a knight in Episode 2.

Confusingly, all Jedi are called 'Master Jedi' no matter what their rank...

Isn't that the difference between "Master Jedi" and "Jedi Master"?

I would think the "Master" bit is a greeting more so then anything.

When a Jedi takes on an apprentice, no matter their actual rank, they're referred to as Master Jedi.

Similar to how a ship captain in the military, whether they're, say, Captain, Commander, Lieutenant Commander, whatever, they're still referred to as Captain.
