Dorsek Runningstrider was born on Corellia during the golden age of the Galactic Alliance. He grew up with his sister, Fenyi, in a relatively normal household. His father was a soldier and his mother was a starfighter pilot, and as such were rarely home. Dorsek and Fenyi learned to be self-sufficient at young ages, their parents often leaving them alone for days on end. When Dorsek was seventeen his father was killed in battle, when he was nineteen his mother was shot down over Ryloth and died. His older sister tried to take care of him, but she was barely making ends meet as an officer recruit in the Galactic Alliance Navy. Dorsek left home and did the only thing he knew how, he followed in his father's footsteps and joined the GA Defense Force.

He was never exceptionally intelligent, math and science were never his strongest subjects. But he found his true calling during training, with his instructors noting his prowess in all things martial. Dorsek, even as a trainee, was an expert shot and melee combatant. When his training was over he was transferred from the regular army to the Special Forces, where he served with distinction for years. His squad came to rely on his almost supernatural ability to sense incoming danger, and Dorseks' keen eye through his rifle ended many battles with one shot. Little did he know that these abilities were his latent force-sensativity starting to manifest, in the form of improved sight and reflexes and a sense of when danger was approaching.

Eventually he was promoted to Commander, leading his own team on missions across the galaxy. When the GA surrendered, Dorsek and his team were away and managed to link up with the resistance. They operated there for years, until something happened that changed his life forever.

While exploring their father's personal YT-2400, the Silent Wayfarer, Fenyi discovered a secret compartment hidden in the floor of the ship. Inside was a faded set of Jedi Robes, a number of data-chips and holocrons, and an ancient lightsaber with an inscription on the side. It was in a four thousand year old dialect of basic, but Fenyi eventually managed to translate it.

"Runningstrider's Destiny"

The older of the two Runningstrider children had know about her force sensativity all along, but did not want to take on the responsibility of being force sensative. She had enough on her plate as the second in command of a starship. So instead she passed on these Jedi artifacts to Dorsek, who began training as a Jedi while continuing his duties as leader of his team. He eventually met up with other Jedi, Adrianna Fiore included, and trained with them when time allowed. After many months of this he finally resigned and devoted himself to the Jedi way full time. He moved off of the ship to the Jedi enclave on Dantooine, where he was Knighted and continued to study and do missions for the Jedi Order. He was a unique breed, a soldier and leader first and a Jedi second. This mixture became the bane of many Sith, Sith who had become accustomed to fighting "old fashioned" Jedi. Dorsek was not afraid of combat, and he was more than willing to fight to preserve all that was good in the galaxy.

After years of training and being a Jedi, while ocassionally serving aboard the Spirit of Fire, Dorsek became a Jedi Battlemaster. It was around this time that he realized that he had a daughter, the result of a short relationship fling that he was forced to abandon many years prior. This daughter, Syren, became his first apprentice as a Master. Syren's mother, Anya, became consumed by the dark side and set out to do one thing: Kill Dorsek. She almost succeeded more than once, until Syren finally killed her. Dorsek still lives with some guilt regarding the situation with Anya and how it ended, but in true Jedi fashion he tries to look on the brighter side of things.

And here we are now. Whatever isn't here, hasn't been written yet.

Updated again. I rethought Dorsek's age based on his daughters and 60 was too old. I've retconned him to 50.
