Development for Clan Zeresh

The Forbidden Temple

When one goes to negotiate, you must know three things: Your Wants, Your Target, and Yourself.

What Anon wanted was people. A population to work with. Not at labourers, organics are terrible at that. There was power in a community and it would be even foolishness for the fantastic Anon Nona to try and sustain his practices and goals without a collective of minds exploring and imagining to their own devices. Certainly it would be more trouble than it would be worth if he were to just snatch people in the night.

Whom Anon must bargain with was Nessarose deWinter. There were no more favours at Anons disposal. The price for ensuring the Queen's survival had been paid, and Anon's work and resources were settled in contract. If he is going to ask for something from the Leader of the Sanguine Potestatem, Anon would need more than pretty shoes and sweets.

As for Anon himself, his nature itself could be a detriment for the entire proposal. Business practices and the seriousness of trade was rarely done in his own person, preventing his aloofness and theatrics from self-sabotage. However, Anon was unique. Anon was more than one. Anon was many parts in a whole. Anon was capable of a woman's touch.

Anon Anima was how she designated herself. A maternal persona that had been created for calmer and subtle thought. Tall in stature, she towered over the tanned guards of the Forbidden Temple as she passed them by. Unlike the Anon proper who would enjoy the surprise of arriving both unexpected and outrageously different, Anon Anima ensured  to inform the Temple of her arrival and whom to expect. However, it was easy to see the relations. Though she was larger than the flamboyant technophile, Anima was the same pale white skin that would lightly sparkle in the sun, and skin would give small flashes of racing lines beneath her skin. Long white hair cascaded down her frame in ringlets and decorated with a few silver clasps. Her gown also favoured the white colour scheme, but was more elegant and noble than Anon's preferred flashy and gaudy.  However, the most curious feature she possessed was the swell of her belly. Anon Anima traveled with child.

Graceful steps belied her stature with healed shoes barely making a sound on the hard stone floors. Anon Anima arrived at the entrance to the audience chamber and greeted the guards with a curtsy. It was a vain attempt to try and lower herself enough to bow below they guards' eye level to show submission, but she still looked down to them when she made eye contact. Maybe Anon went a little overboard when deciding on a height of 8'.

"I have come seeking an audience with the Queen. Would you be so kind to announce my arrival?" Anima requested in her deep and husky voice. It was designed to be calm and soothing with a hint of sternness if you decided to play laser ball in the living room. Anon was sure the guards were simply glad it wasn't a skinny many in a leather body suit trying to flirt with them this time.

There were a only a few humanoids that could make Nessarose deWinter feel physically small. Anon Anima was one of those. The woman towered to 8 feet, making Nessa's 5"10 seem tiny y comparison, which was part of why she'd scheduled the meeting to take place in the library, where everyone would be seated.

It wasn't that the difference in sizes made her uncomfortable. After all, the teenager had hunted dragons and rancors and taken on people old enough to be her great great grandfather in the past few years alone. Still... There was something unnerving about the Anon clan, and Nessa herself didn't completely understand it. And if there was something she absolutely hated, it was to not understand something. Especially when she'd invited it to her own turf and made it part of the Sanguine Potestatem.

"Bring her to the library," was her only order. A table had already been laid out, filled with various foods that could satisfy someone who was... carrying.

Without question Anon Anima accepted the direction. She bowed to the guard with a kind smile and thanked him for his patience. As the woman turned, the guard may have caught a hungering glimmer in the corner of her eye. Anon in any form is a being of vice, Anima was not entirely immune.

Anon's brief time within the Temple gave him knowledge of all the common areas, and it would not take long for his knowledge to guide Anon Anima to the library. Entering the great room, the warm lights pulled more glitter from Anima's porcelain skin. Within her may be incredible volumes of data, but Anon Anima could not hid the awe as she was able to take in the series of books and scriptures that the Potestatem stored upon the towering shelves. Anon never cared to gain information from anything you could not get from the net, but his Anima ego was more open-minded.

Finally approaching the table, Anima showed delight in seeing the substantially shorter Nessarose deWinter and lowered to one knee while holding her gown to the sides. "My Queen," Anima greeted while bowing her head. "You are too kind to accept my request on such notice."

Grinning, Nessa nodded her head back and motioned for Anon Anima to take a seat. She was more excited than she dared let on though. Over the past months, Nessarose and Diomedes had been on Endelaan on a rather permanent basis, and the girl who'd grown up being used to rarely spending more than a week or two in one place suddenly found herself grounded and thirsting for contact and conversations with things that were not just Endelaanian by nature. Her restless sometimes threatened to show, but she'd been a good girl about covering it up so far. As good as one could expect from a Queen.

"No worries," she said, her voice light and bubbly as always. You could even hear the smile in it, "have a seat! Have some food!"

Food was among the last thing anyone on Endelaan lacked. The planet was a hub of agriculture, and the new technologies had only improved it. They could feed their population several times over, which was great news, considering Nessarose had a population boom in the planning.

"To what do I owe this pleasure?"

Seeing her host eager for the company filled Anon Anima with a comforting warmth. When Nona acted as Primary, he had always been a welcome guest -though maybe one preferred in moderation- so it was to much relief that they same courtesies were extended to another ego. Anima only hoped that she could save explaining such an identity complex for another time. Company was something easily reciprocated and enjoyed, but there was the small matter of business. That considered, it would be rude to deny a host's offerings. And no Anons would dare to be a terrible guest.

With a hand that could easily claim a whole platter, Anima gingerly plucked a single, small slice of cake between her fingers and supported it with her remaining hand. Perhaps it was by design that she treated the whole world as if it were tissue paper. Neon blue eyes glowed with approval as she appraised the treat, and brought it to her mouth to taste. It didn't take much for the whole slice to fall between ivory lips, but the network if lines that circuited beneath her skin lit up and raced in response to the taste. Anima closed her eyes and stifled a moan of delight as she swallowed. Something synthesized could ever compare to the complex tastes and textures of food prepared by hand. Complements to the chef indeed.

"Your Majesty," Anima began with the hint of a tease in her tone. What Anon has seen of Endelaan's Queen could have any other be gouged of their eyes and left to scavengers. ", I will be to the point." She couldn't resist giving a quick suck of her finger tip to clean it of the sweet icing. "Anon may be of many faces and voices, but in truth we are alone." Anima did take a moment to give her belly a gentle rub and a rather maternal smile. "Well, one more will not solve our dilemma."

Eyes returned to Nessa, locking with the Queen's. "Being alone is a weakness. Solitude can be a liability. What we desire is a sustainable community. Unfortunately, consensus agrees that any who join our fold may suffer losing some of their heritage." Anima's sadness was evident as she admitted to this consequence. Witnessing undiluted culture had always been guilty pleasure of Anon's. "With your people's pride in their strength and power, we would seek out the weak, the ill, and the broken."

"We will not accept anyone against their will." Anima added. "We are not seeking drones. We are seeking people."

As Anima moved for the cake, Nessa herself chose the Bantha wings instead. She was never sure why they called it that, since everyone knew Banthas had no wings, and the thing she was eating was definitely bird-wing shaped, and she'd never even taken any kind of look at the ingredients. But it was a good, deep fried dish, that apparently even people on Endelaa knew how to prepare, despite the fact that there were no Banthas to be found on the planet.

With the grace of a ballerina, Nessarose put the wing in her mouth, and with a movement that was too quick for anyone to notice, removed flesh and skin from bone, producing perfectly cleaned remains from an otherwise empty mouth a mere second later.

When Anima began to speak though, the Queen of Endelaan paused her feeding, taking only a sip of water chocolate milk as she listened. There had been no need to assure her that they were alone; Nessarose wasn't... entirely aware of what exactly Anon Nona was, but she knew he was one of the few in the Galaxy she trusted. He had saved not only her but her potential offspring as well, and for that, she was eternally grateful, even if she wasn't entirely sure how much of a fit he himself was on Endelaan itself. Still, any of the Anon clan was welcome - for just as anything was obtained on Endelaan, they had earned it.

Which was why she had a moment of confusion when Anima mentioned being alone. She had thought the Anon clan was... Not. Still, the request for companionship made sense. Whatever personal things were happening among these glitter skinned people was obviously none of her business... For the moment.

"You want sick people?" she asked, perplexed, "Endelaan has its share of those but... Why? What would are you hoping to find, or do, with them?"

"Out of the kindness of our heart?" Anima's maternal features concealed the fact that she was quite young by Galactic standards. Her skills in sarcasm and fallacy were greatly dwarfed by Anon's. Letting out a mournful sigh, the large, pale woman sought out the teapot and plate of biscuits and brought them before her. Just about to pour into her cup, Anima appraised the size of the tiny vessel and realized that it may be better for someone of smaller stature. However, seeing Nessarose's disregard for formalities encouraged Anima to compromise. Rather than pouring into the tea cup, Anima claimed the whole pot by opening the top, the heady smells of the contents rising to greet her face in a light, fluffy cloud, and dipped a biscuit with her fingers.  Now to compile an answer that was both fulfilling and respectful. Perhaps Anon's silver tongue would have been of better use in these discussions.

"We may be here to negotiate a solution with Your Highness, but our goal is to help suppress any misgivings the other clans may have if we were to become a people of power." Anima's voice was calm and steady as she slowly stirred a biscuit in the teapot. Determining it soggy enough, Anima raised it to her mouth and took a small bite though easily able to claim it whole without a hint of choking. "What we do may be counter-intuitive to their cultures. We do not seek to find discipline in martial skills, or wisdom in the Force. We shall not be raising warriors and sorcerers as your people may recognize." Cleaning her fingers off with her lips, Anima dipped another biscuit into the tea pot.

"If we offered care for those that are not able to serve the clans, the ones who are-" Anima choked on the word, but pushed her maternal feelings aside to remain objective, "-a burden on their people, it would remove stress and allow for finer stock in talent."

This truly was Anon's field of expertise. He made it looks so easy. It was foolish to convince Consensus that she would be a more suitable negotiator. Anima needed  to provide a point to steer this proposal away from being so impersonal and cold-logic.

"It isn't as if we intend to steal the children. Anyone who does migrate would be free to visit their families, and may still be able to act on their behalf within new fields: doctors, engineers, politicians."
